Key Responsibilities
- Operate a cash register and process customer transactions accurately.
- Seek out and develop new sales opportunities within the department.
- Maintain and strengthen relationships with both new and returning customers.
- Showcase products and explain technical features such as rod actions, reel systems, tackle applications, camping systems, and gear setups in a clear, engaging way.
- Work toward and consistently meet individual and team sales goals.
- Stay informed on fishing trends, seasonal patterns, camping gear innovations, and competitor activity.
- Guide customers through the full sales process, from initial engagement to final purchase.
- Assist customers in selecting the right gear for fishing trips, camping setups, and outdoor recreation needs.
- Assist with visual merchandising, product displays, and department organization.
- Help maintain inventory accuracy and restocking standards.
- Collaborate with leadership on promotions, seasonal transitions, and product launches.
- Step in to support other departments or responsibilities as business needs shift.
Qualifications
- Full-time availability, working Thursday through Monday.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable recommending products, upselling, and closing sales.
- Knowledge of fishing gear, tackle systems, camping equipment, and outdoor products preferred.
- Passion for fishing, camping, and outdoor recreation strongly preferred.
- Able to understand customer needs and recommend practical gear solutions.
- Adaptable and willing to take on different tasks or roles when needed.
- Able to lift up to 30 lbs as needed.
