Biotechnician I (Hopewell, NJ)

About the role

The Biotechnician I position at BeOne will play a crucial role in the startup and execution of cGMP manufacturing operations for the company's first biopharmaceutical plant in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate facility start-up activities including design, build, commission, and licensing of the biopharmaceutical plant.
• Select, procure, and test equipment necessary for the manufacturing process.
• Develop and execute protocols for various stages of the manufacturing process.
• Conduct acceptance testing and equipment/automation debugging.
• Provide technical training to new team members.
• Execute hands-on cGMP manufacturing activities, including media preparation, cell culture sampling, harvest operations, buffer preparation, filtration, and aseptic filling.
• Manage deviations, perform change control, and maintain accurate batch documentation.
• Operate and maintain various equipment and systems, including DSC, CIP, SIP skids, autoclaves, part washers, filter integrity testers, biowelders, and SoloVPE protein concentration analyzers.
• Participate in cleanroom operations, environmental monitoring, and deviation investigations.
• Collaborate with supervisors to manage daily tasks and escalate issues as necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED with 1+ years of experience in a biopharmaceutical setting.
• AS/BS/BA in a science-related field or equivalent technical experience preferred.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, reach overhead, bend, stoop, push/pull, and handle objects frequently.
• Comfortable working in varying temperatures and handling hazardous materials and chemicals.
• Familiarity with computer-based systems, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Proactive problem-solving and continuous improvement mindset.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including shifts and international travel as needed.

Pay

Salary range: $25.48 - $33.48 per hour. Actual compensation is determined by a variety of factors including job-related skills, depth of experience, certifications, relevant education or training, and specific work location. For more details, please contact the recruiter during the hiring process.
