About the role
The Biosurgery Clinical Specialist provides clinical assessments on adjunctive hemostat device needs, risks, recommendations and implementation recommendations to customers, including nurses, educators, risk managers, surgeons and techs. This role plays an integral part in observing case activity to better understand adjunctive hemostat product utilization, techniques and applications across various specialties and procedures in and outside the OR setting, while capturing, documenting and sharing these insights across the team. The role also helps educate customers on our adjunctive hemostat portfolio, simplify product selection for clinicians and surgical teams, and support appropriate product use through hands-on product demonstrations and in-service staff training.
Responsibilities
- Complete training on adjunctive hemostat devices and products to be proficient in product utilization and demonstration.
- Demonstrate mastery of clinical information related to product application and the IFU; must be able to use this mastery to educate customers on appropriate product use, help simplify product selection and increase awareness of the broader adjunctive hemostat portfolio.
- Develop strong, working relationships with surgical leadership and clinicians while providing adjunctive hemostat education, product selection support and bleeding risk assessments.
- Observe cases and procedures across various specialties and service lines, in and outside the OR setting, to capture real-world utilization data, product selection patterns, techniques and barriers to appropriate adjunctive hemostat use.
- Educate end-users of clinical effectiveness of adjunctive hemostat products, technical aspects of Ethicon’s products and the breadth of the portfolio.
- Aid field sales in collection of product utilization and performance data.
- Conduct adjunctive hemostat hands-on product demonstrations and in-service staff training for clinical and leadership groups within aligned accounts.
- Communicate educational content and distribute materials and programs.
- Participate in key society meetings as appropriate.
Requirements
- 4 year Bachelor's degree required (degree in nursing, business or related field is preferred.)
- Valid RN license in state of residency required
- A minimum of 5 years clinical experience required
- A minimum of 3 years OR experience required
- Strong group presentation skills and experience in presenting clinical education and/or surgical leadership/management.
- Specialty CNOR certification or related specialty is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Assertive, ability to work independently and uncover opportunities
- Ability to plan and deliver formal presentations (large and small groups)
- Excellent written and verbal communication and organizational planning skills, including time and territory management and structured thinking in clinical procedure settings.
- Familiarity with AORN Surgical Smoke Safety Guidelines
- Strong MS Office, Word, Excel skills

Pay
The potential base pay range for this role is $135,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time).
