Brief Description

The Biostatistician is responsible for performing statistical analysis projects using SAS and/or S-PLUS, conducting analyses, working with the Biostatistics team, providing statistical consulting, assisting in manuscript development, and collaborating with PT Operations and Technical staff to analyze and troubleshoot data anomalies.

  • Provide timely and accurate statistical and data analysis expertise for designing studies, managing data, and conducting statistical analyses.
  • Collaborate with project partners to prepare analysis plans for each assigned project, including a timeline for deliverables.
  • Conduct individual analyses on projects, including programming assignments in SAS and/or S-PLUS.
  • Provide statistical consulting with assigned CAP staff and/or committee members.
  • Aid in the development and review of committee manuscripts.
  • Partner with PT Operations and Technical staff to analyze and troubleshoot data anomalies.
  • Work with CAP Biostatistics programming staff on jointly assigned programs.
  • Consult with Senior Biostisticians on statistical issues.

Personal Knowledge/Skills Required/Preferred

  • Excellent verbal communication, technical writing skills and problem solving ability.
  • Excellent technical skills and the ability and desire to expand expertise and apply current statistical methods.
  • Effective workload management skills.
  • Ability to independently write programs in statistical analysis software packages.

Education/Experience

  • Education: Master’s degree in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field.
  • Experience: Two to five years statistical experience, preferably in the medical field. Five years of experience in SAS and/or S-PLUS required.

Additional Criteria

  • Minimal Travel Required.

Salary

$87,000 - $111,000
