Position Details

Biospecimen Specialist
Pleasanton, CA (Hybrid, Tuesday anchor day)
Contract
Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
$40 to $51/hour
July 27, 2026

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end biospecimen acquisition and fulfillment processes.
  • Cook up biological sample requests and maintain accurate tracking records.
  • Review and maintain specimen documentation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
  • Partner with R&D teams to understand project requirements and provide status updates.
  • Collaborate with Procurement, Legal, Quality, Safety, Logistics, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure project milestones and customer commitments are met while adapting to changing priorities.
  • Maintain high-quality documentation and compliance with established procedures.
  • Support continuous process improvements and effective communication across teams.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Biology, Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, or another scientific discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following:
    • Molecular biology
    • Clinical trial operations
    • Biospecimen or sample management
    • Biobanking
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Local candidates preferred.
  • Must be able to work a hybrid schedule.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Knowledge of GCP, HIPAA, IRB, or other regulatory/compliance standards.
  • Experience supporting clinical trials or biobanking operations.
  • Experience working with vendors, CROs, or external laboratories.
  • Master's degree in a scientific discipline.
  • Experience working within a global, matrixed organization.
