About the role
This position manages multiple large projects simultaneously involving medical equipment, provides advanced levels of service and support, and performs preventive maintenance and quality assurance inspections.
Responsibilities
- Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates medical equipment.
- Completes preventive maintenance workload to achieve high PM compliance (95% or greater).
- Prioritizes scheduled maintenance according to medical equipment maintenance policy.
- Executes inventory assessments/audits and makes recommendations for specialty equipment purchases.
- Procures best value products, labor, and parts to minimize total cost of service.
- Participates in continuous performance improvement initiatives regarding medical equipment.
- Oversees work of external contractors/vendors for specialized equipment.
- Provides assistance/guidance to colleagues in maintaining imaging equipment in other modalities.
- Performs repairs on defective or malfunctioning equipment.
- Develops and implements preventive maintenance and quality assurance testing procedures.
- Attends vendor-sponsored technical training service schools.
- Attends special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Conforms to a flexible work schedule as needed.
- Participates in on-call rotation and upgrade support.
Qualifications
- Associate degree or military training in Electronics, Biomedical Engineering, or related fields.
- Specialized Imaging Training in specific supported equipment.
- 5 years’ progressive experience in performing direct component and/or board level repair and maintenance on medical imaging equipment.
- Preferably 7 years of progressive experience in performing direct component and/or board level repair and maintenance on medical imaging equipment.
- Preferred: Attendance at five or more equipment-specific training courses related to the equipment specific specialty area of expertise.
- Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) preferred.
- Vendor and manufacturer (OEM) repair/training certification(s) or similar credentials preferred.

Pay
Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
Schedule and Requirements
- Standard support (work) hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 6:00 PM (8-hour day / split shift).
- Shift 1: 7:00 am to 3:30 pm / Shift 2: 9:30 am to 6:00 pm.
- Some after hours, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
- Some positions may be responsible for multiple locations in the same geographic area.
- Site-to-site travel may be required.
- Flexible work schedule required to accommodate early morning or evening repairs as needed.
- Participates in a weekly on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support.
