Biomedical Equipment Technician II - Kansas City, MO
This position responds to service calls to evaluate, diagnose, and perform repair or planned maintenance (PM) on progressively complex customer biomedical equipment, driving customer satisfaction through Service Excellence. This role is located on-site at our client's location in Kansas City, MO and allows for relocation.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate complex customer biomedical equipment issues and implement appropriate repairs.
- Perform planned maintenance (PM), safety and environmental inspections, and maintain effective customer relations.
- Follow and guide others regarding GE policies, procedures, hospital protocol, and complete necessary documentation.
- Effectively communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues.
- Engage in proactive daily communications with customers to ensure resolution and proper follow-up, leading to customer satisfaction.
- Implement GE/customer facility contract, supporting business goals and objectives.
- Lead, instruct, and assist technicians on basic and complex repairs and resolution.
- Work as a member of a local team to provide efficient service delivery to all accounts within the assigned area.
- Share on-call/pager responsibility.
- Document all repair actions and submit reports/summaries according to schedule.
- Ensure proper care of spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration.
- Maintain approved parts inventory.
- Manage vendors' service delivery processes in compliance with GE policies.
- Enhance and maintain technical knowledge of current standards, codes, and procedures regarding safe and effective use of medical equipment through formal instruction.
- May perform the role of Site Leader (e.g., direct activities of fellow Biomedical Technicians, engage in interactive customer relationships, participate in Safety Committees).
- Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety requirements, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience servicing medical equipment; OR
- Equivalent military education and 2+ years of experience servicing electrical or mechanical equipment; OR
- High School Diploma/GED and 4+ years of experience servicing medical equipment.
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to customers.
- Must comply with GEHC's standard background check, including a post-offer drug test.
- Must comply with all customer access policies, including proof of required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks (including federal government background checks if applicable).
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (visa sponsorship is not available for this role).
Special Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted.
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, climbing, crouching/squatting, kneeling/crawling, and sitting/standing for long periods.
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level, flex/extend neck, and good hand and finger dexterity.
- Specific vision abilities required include color vision, close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception.
- Willingness to be available "after hours" or work a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, for critical issues.

Pay
For U.S.-based positions, the pay range for this role is $59,840.00–$89,760.00 annually. Compensation decisions depend on skills, qualifications, experience, and location. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentive compensation, including cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives (LTI).
