About the role
Probo Medical is a diagnostic imaging sales and service provider delivering high-quality, affordable healthcare products and services to medical practices worldwide. As a Biomed Field Service Technician, you will perform technical work in the installation, repair, preventative maintenance, and calibration of OEM medical devices or systems. This role reports to the VP of Service Delivery - DI.
Responsibilities
- Complete scheduled preventive maintenance and unplanned maintenance, including required equipment upgrades.
- Install and de-install OEM equipment, performing site inspections and interacting with customers and contractors as needed.
- Establish and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction through service excellence.
- Complete expense reports within established department guidelines.
- Train customers on basic operation and use of medical devices.
- Respond to customer inquiries in written form (with managerial approval), in person, or via telephone with urgency.
- Escalate customer issues and unresolved product problems to service management in a comprehensive and timely manner.
- Promote service contract offerings and assist Sales in selling service agreements within your assigned territory.
- Observe and promote Probo’s standards and policies on safety, quality, and productivity.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of records for installations, deinstallations, repairs, maintenance, and regulatory compliance paperwork.
- Manage inventory, keep accurate records, and return unused and failed parts promptly.
- Perform preventive maintenance on time, provide expeditious on-site response, and minimize equipment downtime.
Requirements
- Degree in electronics, biomedical engineering, biomedical technology, electrical engineering, or equivalent. Military equivalency is also acceptable.
- Previous mechanical or electronics work experience in a field service, hospital-based, or military setting.
- Solid computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office, software operating systems, and network technology.
- Experience interfacing with internal team members and external customers as part of a solution-based service process.
- Familiarity with common electronic test equipment, including Digital Multi-Meters and safety analyzers.
- Experience with or ability to interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, illustrated parts diagrams, and technical manuals of biomedical and imaging instrumentation.
- Valid driver’s license, good driving record, and ability to pass a motor vehicle record check.
- Ability to adhere to hospital credentialing requirements, including drug testing and immunizations as dictated by customer or facility policy.

Travel Requirements
The position requires travel up to 80% of the time.
Work Environment
- Primarily in the field at hospitals, clinics, and medical facilities; administrative duties performed in a home office environment.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move items of a minimum of 50 lbs. using proper technique.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and drive for long periods.
- Must have use of hands and fingers, ability to reach with hands and arms, speak, and hear.
- Required to stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend.
- Close vision abilities required.
- Ability to operate an automobile with a valid state driver’s license and good driving record.
