About the Role
The UHS HTM Medical Systems Engineering Technologist (MSET I) performs evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on devices, networks, and software used in the care and treatment of patients at UHS facilities, affiliates, and other contracted institutions. This role ensures all patients receive the safest and best possible experience while adhering to regulatory requirements and compliance standards. The position operates under direct supervision and focuses on delivering exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, and other stakeholders.
Assists UHS HTM leadership in developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships while meeting established key performance indicators (KPIs).
Responsibilities
- Perform evaluations, repairs, inspections, and preventive maintenance on medical devices, networks, and software.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements for medical devices and healthcare technology.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to patients, physicians, nurses, technicians, administrators, and other stakeholders.
- Assist UHS HTM leadership in developing and strengthening facility and vendor relationships.
- Execute and meet all requirements of established key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Support the safe and effective use of healthcare technology in patient care.
Requirements
- One to three years of minimum HTM or IT experience required; three to five years preferred.
- Experience with healthcare technology management programs preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., CABT or other relevant certifications) preferred; must be obtained within 18 months of hire if required by the hiring director.
- Knowledge of medical equipment and regulatory requirements for medical devices preferred.
- Advanced computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft products and experience with CMMS products.
- Strong planning, organization, and communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation).
- Periodic travel may be required.
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree or 2-year Technical Degree required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Professional certification (e.g., CABT or other relevant certifications) preferred; must be obtained within 18 months of hire if required by the hiring director.
