Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and support for the proper utilization and maintenance of all medical equipment, including:
- Emergency Room equipment (24/7 operation)
- Cardiac treatment devices (EKG, doppler, cardiac catheterization, angioplasty, open-heart surgical devices)
- Cardiac rehabilitation and exercise conditioning equipment
- Occupational and physical therapy equipment
- In-patient and out-patient surgical equipment (laser surgery, arthroscopy, laparoscopic procedures)
- MRI machines, CT Scanners, Ultrasound equipment
- Echo/Vascular and Nuclear Medicine equipment
- Mammography machines
- Intensive Care Unit equipment
- Oversee maintenance and repair of medical systems to ensure optimum utilization.
- Evaluate safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of medical equipment; develop testing methods and procedures for biomedical devices.
- Provide support, repairs, and maintenance for all specified medical equipment.
- Oversee and participate in the design, fabrication, operation, application, and installation of new or updated medical equipment.
- Conduct training for physicians, healthcare managers, clinicians, and staff on proper use of medical machinery.
- Document feedback on equipment operation and introduce improvements as needed.
- Maintain a database of vendor/supplier correspondence to improve future interactions.
- Stay updated on medical equipment advances to prepare for technological changes.
- Write training programs and guides for healthcare staff on correct machinery utilization.
- Manage medical equipment inventory and coordinate with vendors for replacement parts.
Requirements
- Able to troubleshoot, read schematics, and/or blueprints.
- Valid California driver’s license.
- Minimum 0-1 years’ experience preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, or related field required.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
- Good verbal communication skills.
