Biologist or Ecologist - Wetland Specialist
About the role
The Tulsa, OK office of Kleinfelder is seeking a Biologist / Wetland Scientist / Ecologist to assist on various types of projects primarily in the transportation, energy, and commercial markets. The successful candidate will have experience conducting field assessments for wetlands, threatened and endangered species and other related projects in the natural resources sector.
Responsibilities
- Field delineations of Waters of the U.S. (including wetlands) according to USACE standards.
- Habitat assessments for threatened and endangered species.
- Stream and wetland mitigation planning.
- Mitigation site monitoring.
- Section 404 permitting.
- Preparing various types of reports and NEPA documentation.
- Environmental Site Assessments.
- Regulatory compliance.
- Aid with business development and proposal development.
Requirements
- A BS in an Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science or related field is required.
- 4 - 8 or more years of experience in conducting environmental fieldwork and reporting is preferred.
- The ability to travel is required (typically short-term).
Qualifications
- Strong background in plant and wildlife identification, soils evaluation, hydrology, GPS use, mitigation planning, permit preparation.
- Good writing and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with relevant state/federal regulations and client specific requirements.

- Proficiency in field assessment techniques.
- Experience with regulatory compliance processes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
