Overview

TRC is seeking a Natural Resources Associate Project Manager/Biologist to join our Planning, Permitting, and Licensing Practice. The successful candidate will report to TRC's TX offices in Austin, Houston, or Arlington. The role emphasizes environmental planning and permitting for projects and clients in renewable energy, electric generation and transmission, energy transition, and oil and gas.

Responsibilities

• Project management responsibilities for small to medium sized projects.
• Support biological field surveys including wetland/waterbody delineations, habitat assessments, wildlife and plant species-specific surveys, and breeding bird and raptor surveys.
• Prepare reports from field surveys.
• Provide support in preparing permit applications at the federal, state, and local levels.
• Prepare technical reports/correspondence including critical issues analysis and effects determinations for environmental assessments, as applicable.
• Consult with federal and state agencies for project compliance.
• Abide by Company policies and procedures.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include a bachelor's degree in environmental science, natural resources, biology, ecology, or related field, and 5 to 10 years of post-degree experience.
• Strong ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable federal regulatory agencies, including FERC, USACE, USFWS, and EPA.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply environmental compliance and permitting regulations of applicable state regulatory agencies.
• Excellent verbal and technical communication skills.
• Ability to direct field staff in medium to large field mobilizations.
• Ability to maintain a positive attitude working under aggressive schedules.
• Ability to prepare clear and concise reports, procedures, correspondence, and other written materials.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and motor vehicle records check.

A preferred candidate will hold or has potential to attain one or more of the following qualifications:

• Experience with NEPA document preparation.
• Experience with FERC Resource Report preparation.
• Certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS).
• Certified Wildlife Biologist (CWB).
• Project Management Professional (PMP).

Pay

Salary Range: USD $80,080.00 - USD $115,000.00 per year.

Employee may be eligible for participation in the Company’s annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators which vary by year and employee.
