About the role

Provide support services for new product development in CIDR, including laboratory experiments, data analysis, supply ordering, and project management to advance lead candidates toward FDA approval. Oversee care and management of fish populations in the aquatic research facility and perform biomedical research with aquatic organisms independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain safe, functional laboratories and perform laboratory experiments.
  • Analyze data, manage data spreadsheets, and maintain reference databases.
  • Assist in ordering supplies and record experiments in laboratory notebooks.
  • Support research activities to advance lead candidates to the next level of testing.
  • Oversee care and management of fish populations in the aquatic research facility.
  • Perform biomedical research with aquatic organisms independently and with team members.
  • Maintain and operate test systems for toxicological assessment.
  • Design, prepare, and execute research studies according to protocol for various aquatic species.
  • Perform all aspects of fish husbandry, including fish euthanasia, fin clipping, microinjection, and advanced microscopy techniques.
  • Safely operate and maintain equipment for aquatic systems and research studies.
  • Monitor, operate, and maintain the water production system for the aquatic research facility.
  • Perform basic water quality analysis.
  • Operate advanced zebrafish behavioral and toxicity testing systems (e.g., DanioVision/EthoVision, Tecan digital dispensing systems).
  • Perform compound formulation and dosing for aquatic toxicity testing and other research assays.
  • Develop and perform novel biomedical research using aquatic organisms, primarily zebrafish.
  • Maintain and analyze data, write research reports, and assist with research presentations and peer-reviewed publications.
  • Maintain current training and health screening requirements as mandated by the IACUC.
  • Ensure a safe working environment and adhere to applicable safety regulations.
