About the role

This program brings subject-matter experts together to enhance the capabilities of Large Language Models (LLMs) within specialized domains and subdomains. The Handshake AI Fellowship program runs year-round, though project availability will vary by domain.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with AI researchers to develop and refine models tailored to specific biochemistry, biomedical engineering, and cognition & neuroscience/biopsychology applications.
  • Contribute to the training and evaluation of LLMs using relevant datasets and methodologies.
  • Participate in regular meetings and workshops to discuss progress and challenges.
  • Write technical reports and present findings at internal and external conferences.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate students majoring in Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or Cognition & Neuroscience/Biopsychology.
  • Strong academic performance and a demonstrated interest in AI and its applications.
  • Basic understanding of programming and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team setting.

Qualifications

  • Ability to think critically and creatively about complex problems.
  • Passion for learning and staying updated on advancements in AI and related fields.
  • Experience with Python, R, or other relevant programming languages.
