Schedule
Full-time or part-time positions with open availability. Shifts typically run from 30 minutes before opening to one hour after closing, offering flexible shifts throughout the week.
- Monday: Closed
- Tuesday–Thursday: 6 AM – 7 PM
- Friday: 6 AM – 6 PM
- Saturday-Sunday: 7 AM – 3 PM
About the role
As a Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse), you will determine donor eligibility to donate plasma, manage donor adverse events, review laboratory test results, and notify donors of unsuitable test results. You will work under the guidance of the Center Manager for operational matters and the Center Physician for medical issues. Familiarity with plasma collection industry regulations or a manufacturing environment is expected. You will also support environmental, health, and safety (EHS) initiatives as guided by BioLife Medical Affairs.
Responsibilities
- Determine donor eligibility, including management of informed consent, AIDS education, confidential self-exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing Serological Protein Electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate and manage donor reactions as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Follow SOPs for medical emergencies, including developing Center Physician’s standing orders and arranging donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility, to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees.
- Manage employee incidents and determine if further evaluation by occupational health or ER is required, following EHS guidance.
- Serve as a Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS, supporting investigations related to pandemic threats in the local community.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent, including graduation from a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements.
- Current LPN or LVN license in the state where responsibilities will be assigned.
- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and AED certification.
- Fulfill state requirements for basic IV therapy.
- Satisfactory completion of FDA-approved training for BioLife Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years of experience in a clinical or hospital setting.

Pay
U.S. Hourly Wage Range: $24.30 - $33.44. The actual hourly wage offered may depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and job location. The wage will comply with state or local minimum wage requirements.
