Bioinformatics Scientist (Remote)

Remote contract role with a global leader in biotechnology research, contributing to breakthroughs in genomic analysis and drug discovery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize computational models for biological data analysis, including genomics, proteomics, and metabolomics datasets.
• Design and implement algorithms to process large-scale biological datasets with a focus on accuracy and scalability.
• Collaborate with research teams to translate biological questions into computational frameworks and analytical pipelines.
• Validate and refine models using experimental data to ensure biological relevance and predictive power.
• Document methodologies, results, and findings in technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders.

Requirements

• PhD or Master’s degree in Computational Biology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB for data analysis and modeling.
• Experience with biological databases, tools, and software including BLAST, Bioconductor, or similar platforms.
• Strong background in statistical analysis, machine learning, and algorithm development for biological applications.
• Familiarity with high-performance computing and cloud-based platforms for large-scale data processing.

Pay

$90 – $120/hour
