Brief Overview
The Genomic Diagnostic Laboratory (GDL) of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is seeking a highly motivated Bioinformatics Scientist II.
What You Will Do
- Coding and Software Development (40%): CI/CD development of bioinformatics pipelines, applying best practices
- Analysis (30%): Analyze high complexity genomics data, contribute to the development of additional pipeline functionality and changes
- Collaboration (20%): Contribute to the development of application portfolio, establish role within collaborative project team as primary bioinformatics resource, define and promote boundaries of support
- Academic Output (10%): Regularly contribute to bioinformatics-focused manuscripts and publications, contribute to podium presentations and posters, contribute to bioinformatics sections of grant and award proposals
Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree - Required
- Bachelor's Degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Engineering or related fields - Preferred
- Master's Degree in Bioinformatics, Data Science, Engineering or related field - Preferred
Experience Qualifications
- At least three (3) years experience in applied bioinformatics, genomics, and computational work - Required

- Ability to interact with biologists and clinicians during a scientific discussion
- Accountability and attention to timelines
- Excellent organization and communication skills with an emphasis on strong presentation skills
- Ability to provide objective validation of results
- Ability to work in a team environment
Salary Range
SALARY RANGE: $101,300.00 - $129,100.00 Annually
