What You Will Do

We are looking for a Bioinformatics Scientist to provide support services to satisfy the overall operational objectives of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. This position is a full-time position located in Research Triangle Park, NC.

Cover conduct analysis and interpretation on data from genomic platforms including expression, exon, tiling, promoter, and other array types.

Cover conduct data analysis and interpretation on other large data types in a genomic context.

Cover establish and maintain workflows including experimental design, data quality analysis, genome and meta-genome integration.

Cover write utility scripts, macros, and custom programs or algorithms in support of biological discovery.

Cover coordinate with biologists and bioinformaticians to design models that summarize and explain experimental data.

Cover provide interpretive analyses of data from various experimental platforms to generate biological insights.

Cover prepare reports and publication-quality graphics summarizing experimental results.

Cover participate in meetings with scientific teams and present findings to stakeholders.

What You Will Need

  • Cover a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a biological/life science discipline.
  • Cover a minimum of ONE (1) year of experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or genomic data analysis.
  • Cover experience with next-generation sequencing data analysis, including RNA-Seq, single-cell RNA sequencing, and microarray analysis.
  • Cover proficiency in programming languages and tools such as R, Python, MATLAB, Java, and Unix/Linux environments.
  • Cover experience working with large datasets and performing statistical and computational analyses.
  • Cover knowledge of genomic workflows, pipeline development, and multi-omics analysis.
  • Cover strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Cover ability to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.

What Would Be Nice To Have

  • Cover a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Computational Biology, or a related biological or life science field.
  • Cover experience with methylation analysis, cluster analysis, and multi-omics data integration.
  • Cover experience preparing publication-quality research outputs and scientific visualizations.
