About the role

We are seeking an experienced Bioinformatics Scientist with expertise in computational biology, artificial intelligence, and human genetics to develop intelligent research solutions for genomic data analysis. This role focuses on building AI-driven workflows that connect diverse biological datasets to support disease mechanism discovery and therapeutic target identification. The successful candidate will collaborate with multidisciplinary scientific teams to create scalable and reproducible analytical frameworks while ensuring scientific accuracy and maintainability. This position is ideal for individuals with strong programming skills, computational genomics expertise, and experience working with large-scale biological data.

Responsibilities

  • Develop AI-driven workflows that connect and analyze diverse genetic and genomic datasets.
  • Design intelligent software frameworks capable of reasoning across biological data sources.
  • Develop reusable Python code that supports reproducible scientific research.
  • Integrate public genetic databases and external data sources into computational workflows.
  • Collaborate with geneticists and computational biologists to validate biological findings.
  • Document software architecture, workflow design, and technical configurations.
  • Present technical progress and project updates to scientific stakeholders.
  • Maintain reproducible code using version control and high-performance computing environments.
  • Support disease mechanism research and therapeutic target discovery through computational analysis.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree with at least 1 year of experience or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Genetics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with a Bachelor’s in computational biology, bioinformatics, or related scientific research.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Experience developing AI agents including tool use, reasoning workflows, memory concepts, and multi-agent orchestration.
  • Experience integrating external databases, APIs, and structured and unstructured data sources.
  • Working knowledge of genetics including inheritance, linkage disequilibrium, and population stratification.
  • Experience with Pandas, Biopython, scikit-learn, or similar machine learning libraries.
  • Experience using GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Experience working in Linux and High-Performance Computing environments.
  • Strong communication and scientific documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Genome-Wide Association Studies (GWAS).
  • Experience with fine mapping and colocalization analysis.
  • Experience interpreting GWAS summary statistics.
  • Knowledge of GWAS Catalog, OMIM, ClinVar, Open Targets, and GTEx.
  • Experience integrating multi-omics datasets.
  • Knowledge of biomedical ontologies.
  • Experience with vector databases.
  • Experience developing Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions.

Pay

$40 to $45 an hour
