The position is located in the Tribune, KS area.
About the role
The Biogas Technician will work in a team environment to accomplish the operations and maintenance objectives identified by Seaboard Energy Management. They are responsible for the safe and proper operation, maintenance, and repairs of the Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) facilities' mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical equipment.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and operate the RNG facilities, identify issues, and make necessary changes to ensure steady operations.
- Understand and support QSH&E (Quality, Safety, Health, and Environment) goals and objectives, and ongoing improvement plans and activities.
- Perform work orders and ensure all maintenance work is done in accordance with established safety rules.
- Perform calibrations and repair of pH sensors, pressure, temperature, and flow transmitters.
- Ensure proper record keeping of calibrations in equipment data files.
- Perform preventive maintenance on fresh water and effluent systems, air systems, heat exchangers, and pumps.
- Maintain compressors, motors, pumps, and valves associated with operations.
- Diagnose and repair electrical power and control systems.
- Use tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to precision measuring instruments and electronic testing devices.
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
Requirements
- High School diploma.
- 1+ years of experience in a chemical or petrochemical environment preferred.
- Previous experience in the gas compression field preferred.
- Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret correspondence, general business reports, professional journals, technical procedures, governmental regulations, or reports in English.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of customers and visitors.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR.
