About The Role
We're looking for PhD-level Biochemists to help train and refine cutting-edge AI models on advanced scientific reasoning. Your expertise will directly shape how AI understands and communicates complex biochemical concepts — from protein folding and enzyme kinetics to metabolic flux and molecular genetics. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. No prior AI experience is needed — just deep biochemistry knowledge and the ability to think critically about scientific accuracy.
What You'll Do
- Design Advanced Problems — Create challenging biochemistry problems spanning nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, structural biology, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performance
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level scientific reasoning in AI systems
- Audit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for accuracy, safety, and scientific integrity
- Refined AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors such as incorrect stoichiometry or misapplied stereochemistry, and provide structured feedback to improve the model's scientific thinking
- Work Independently — Complete task-based assignments asynchronously on a schedule that fits your life
Who You Are
- PhD-level expertise — Completed or near-completion PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related discipline
- Strong domain knowledge — Deep grounding in areas such as structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or related fields
- Clear scientific communicator — Able to translate complex biochemical concepts into precise, well-structured written explanations
- Detail-oriented — High precision when evaluating chemical equations, molecular diagrams, and experimental protocols
- No AI experience required — Your scientific expertise is what matters most
- Nice to Have — Experience with data annotation, quality evaluation, or scientific peer review; Familiarity with computational biochemistry tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLAST; Background in scientific writing or academic publishing
