Biochemistry Laboratory Team Lead

Responsibilities
The role involves both laboratory and leadership responsibilities. Laboratory responsibilities include:
- Performs benchtop testing of large molecules using ELISA, MCE, and ICIEF assays
- Maintains laboratory supplies, media, and reagents inventory
- Adheres to good documentation practices (GDP) for all paper and electronic documentation
- Collects and processes all raw data about executed assays
- Uses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample management and documentation of test results
- Performs peer review of procedural execution and processed data
- Works with data reviewers and authorizers to complete any needed corrections or retesting
- Use of GDP to record activities in logbooks, laboratory notebooks, and electronic systems
- Laboratory safety and compliance walkthroughs with documentation of any observations
- Completion of all safety and procedural trainings and re-training
Leadership responsibilities include:
- Personnel management and development
- Manages and coordinates the team's workload
- Management of the cross-training and capacity of the team
- Monitors and reports all productivity and quality metrics
- Proactive and effective communication with client and customer teams
- Completes routine laboratory safety walkthroughs and employee compliance checks
- Participate in the hiring process and onboarding/training of new hires
- Delivers training for new hires and other employees in the department
- Participates in overtime and weekend scheduling as required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience
- 3 years of cGMP experience
- 3 years of leadership experience
- Experience with immunoassays and electrophoresis
- Experience with processing quantitative data
- Experience using an electronic sample and data management system (LIMS)
- Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills
- Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude
- Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies
- Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Pay and Schedule
Compensation: $28.00 - $33.00 per hour. The position is Full Time, Monday-Friday, First Shift, Monday through Friday from 8am-4:30pm.
