Biochemist – AI Data Trainer About The Role Your deep expertise in biochemistry is exactly what the next generation of AI needs. At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train cutting-edge scientific models — and we need PhD-level biochemists to help us get the science right. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where you'll challenge, evaluate, and improve advanced AI models on complex biochemistry topics. Your work will have a direct impact on how AI reasons about life science — from protein folding to enzyme kinetics. No prior AI experience required. If you know biochemistry at a deep level, we'll handle the rest. Organization: AlignerrType: Hourly ContractLocation: RemoteCommitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design Complex Problems — Create advanced biochemistry challenges across domains like nucleic acid chemistry, proteomics, metabolic flux analysis, and drug-target interactions to rigorously test AI performanceAuthor Ground-Truth Solutions — Write precise, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for high-level AI scientific reasoningAudit AI Outputs — Evaluate AI-generated biochemical pathways, molecular structures, and mathematical proofs for technical accuracy and adherence to scientific standardsRefine AI Reasoning — Identify logical errors in AI responses — such as incorrect stoichiometry, misunderstood stereochemistry, or flawed mechanistic reasoning — and provide structured feedback to improve model performance Who You Are Advanced Degree: PhD (completed or in final stages) in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a closely related fieldDeep Domain Knowledge: Strong foundations in structural biology, enzymology, cellular metabolism, bioinformatics, or related areasClear Scientific Communicator: Able to explain complex biological and chemical concepts in precise, well-structured written formDetail-Oriented: High precision when reviewing chemical equations, molecular diagrams, reaction mechanisms, and experimental protocolsNo prior AI or data annotation experience required Nice to Have Experience with data annotation, evaluation, or quality assurance workflowsFamiliarity with computational tools such as PyMOL, AlphaFold, or BLASTBackground in science writing, peer review, or technical editing Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside top research labs and scientistsFully remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule, from anywhereFreelance perks: autonomy, variety, and collaboration with a global expert communityMake a lasting impact on how AI understands and communicates sciencePotential for ongoing work and contract extension
