Biobank Scientist

About the role

Kelly Science and Clinical has an opening for a Biobank Scientist for an engagement at one of our Global pharmaceutical clients in Spring House, PA. The role is eligible for medical benefits, paid time off including vacation (PTO), and holidays, and 401K.

The position is a day shift on site, Monday to Friday, 40 hours a week, until the end of the year, with a likely extension. The pay range is $40-45 an hour.

Responsibilities

• Trained to use the specimen repository system.
• Receive shipments for commercial, pre-clinical, and clinical study samples at the Biobank facility.
• Maintain detailed documentation to track receipt and distribution of specimens.
• Communicate to the group if any queries regarding sample identity and integrity.
• Act as a liaison for the Biobank and other departments that utilize the banked samples.
• Assist the group in freezer maintenance activity, including freezer clean up and defrost, when required.
• Perform the sample inventory, sample pull request, or barcode transfer within the regulatory system.
• Assist lab scientists with trouble shooting for repository system concerns, if needed.
• Perform sample QC on a regular basis, as and when new shipments are received for clinical, commercial, and non-clinical studies.
• Participate in preventive operations on Biobank equipment.

Qualifications

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.
• Experience using Quality System processes, and functional knowledge of Quality and Compliance is required.
• Experience using Microsoft Excel and Word are mandatory.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
