Bio-Medical R&D Engineer

About the role

This position is characterized by its disciplined quantitative approach to engineering (mechanical and electrical) testing. The engineer will work with a cross-functional team that develops medical devices.

Responsibilities

• Development and execution of testing protocols: Support exploratory testing to define test equipment, test fixtures, and test methods development; Participate in training, test methods validation, and execution of testing as needed
• Effective Documentation and communication of test results: Write engineering test reports and route them for approval in DHF
• Design of experiments activities, including for characterization, prototype testing, failure analysis and qualification
• Support the deployment and evaluation of integrated systems in pre-clinical and clinical studies

Qualifications

Experience & Education: B.S. in Engineering (BME, ME Preferred). A minimum of 1 year experience working in an engineering lab.

Skills

• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Familiarity interdisciplinary systems, including electromechanical and electronic systems
• Familiarity with Solid Works, Lab VIEW, Matlab and Minitab is a plus
• Proficiency in soldering small components and the use of tools like Millimeter, Oscilloscope, power supply etc. is desirable
• An understanding of PC based tools for testing embedded hardware is desirable

Pay & Schedule

• Pay rate: $20-25/hr
• Duration: 10+ months contract
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (42.50 hours/week)
