About the Role

The Bindery Helper assists with the various operations of our Bindery/Finishing department. If you’re looking to learn a new set of skills and are interested in print production, we invite you to apply!

Responsibilities

• Assist in the operation of production machinery and equipment.
• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
• Observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
• Remove defective products from workpieces.
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
• Set up and perform maintenance on machines.
• Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.

Qualifications

Previous experience working in a bindery and finishing environment preferred. May be required to complete and pass Public Trust Security Clearance.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. May be required to frequently lift up to 50 lbs. Hand dexterity and strength are needed. Flexibility in work hours may be required.

Work Environment

This position works on the production floor in an industrial warehouse setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.
