Responsibilities
- Develop detailed drawings in accordance with our company's Duct, Mechanical pipe, and Plumbing standards, ensuring work is implemented effectively within cost, schedule, and accuracy parameters.
- Design Standards: Work in conformity with company Pipe, Plumbing, and Duct CAD Standards and detailing practices. Participate in the improvement of these standards.
- Software Proficiency: Use software platforms required to produce accurate production-level drawings. Maintain proficiency or show willingness to learn advanced BIM tools and stay updated on current and future software developments.
- Detailing Proficiency:
- Establish drawings and document formats required to complete jobs.
- Understand and comply with job-specific scope and requirements.
- Generate concise Request For Information (RFIs) or field questions when discrepancies arise on contract drawings or specifications.
- Verify that all drawings are complete to a constructible state.
- Review shop drawings to ensure quality and accuracy prior to distribution to the field.
- Ensure all RFIs are followed through to construction drawings.
- Modify drawings as changes occur and expedite changes to the field.
- Create accurate record drawings from red-lined field markups.
- Create clean, usable working backgrounds.
- Interdepartmental Communications:
- Communicate with Project Supervision to determine detailing scope.
- Assist project staff with drawing requirements and priorities.
- Participate in project coordination efforts and coordinate changes into drawings.
- Communication Skills:
- Communicate effectively and maintain open lines of communication with the BIM/VDC Manager and Field Team.
- Report any outstanding job or departmental issues to the BIM/VDC Manager.
- Participate in department meetings and communicate ideas for improvement.
- Comply with all B&I safety procedures.
Requirements
- A.A. degree in design/drafting or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience in commercial HVAC and/or Plumbing BIM/CAD.
- Proficiency with software tools including AutoCAD, Revit, Fabrication CADMEP, Navisworks, MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other related 3D detailing software tools.
- Demonstrated honesty, integrity, and personal accountability.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to interface with construction industry professionals with professionalism and credibility.
