BIM Modeling Intern (Summer 2027)

About the role

We are looking for a BIM Modeling Intern to join our team at AME Engineering, part of the ARCO Family of Construction Companies. This role supports design/build projects across various sectors, including Industrial, Self-storage, Controlled Environments, Entertainment, Multi-Family, and other facility types. Responsibilities

• Perform fundamental modeling tasks using Revit, AutoCAD, and Bluebeam software applications.
• Develop piping system models, including pipe spacing, fitting makeup, valve locations, and in-line components in 3D applications.
• Apply basic knowledge of building codes, standards, and criteria in project design development.
• Assist with preparing permits and construction models for industrial buildings, equipment, and process piping design.
• Work with Designers and Engineers to understand modeling goals and generate 3D models from one-line drawings.
• Consult with project team members to refine BIM models.
• Gather drawings and specifications, calculate material and equipment requirements, and establish production methods.
• Maintain integrity and alignment with company values while focusing on meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0.
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Engineering or a related field.
• Prior industry internship experience is a plus.
• Extracurricular involvement is a plus.
