About the role
Nooter/Eriksen is seeking a BIM Modeler Level 2 to join our Drafting Team. This role focuses on industrial piping and is part of a team responsible for creating and maintaining advanced BIM models and data for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Create, check, and maintain complex 3D models of all equipment supplied by N/E and sub-vendors using advanced features of BIM software
- Generate and extract 2D drawings and details from the 3D models for fabrication/construction documentation
- Collaborate with other Drafting and Engineering team members by sharing and accessing data through a Common Data Environment
- Check models for accuracy and completeness, ensuring they meet the project requirements and company standards
- Identify 3D model clashes and coordinate with the team in resolving conflicts in the design
- Assist in training and mentoring Junior BIM modelers by sharing best practices and advanced techniques
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience with BIM & CAD software, specifically in using Piping and/or Structural Steel modeling software experience
- Knowledge of typical building codes and how they are applied
- Advanced BIM Software Proficiency
- Understanding of Fabrication and Construction Drawings
- Advanced Skill in identifying and resolving issues within the BIM model
- Precision in creating and updating models to ensure accuracy
Qualifications
- Work Experience: At least 3 years of experience with BIM & CAD software, specifically in using Piping and/or Structural Steel modeling software experience. Knowledge of typical building codes and how they are applied.
- Education: Associate degree, Technical or Vocational education preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of education.
- Technical skill: Advanced BIM Software Proficiency, Understanding of Fabrication and Construction Drawings, Advanced Skill in identifying and resolving issues within the BIM model, Precision in creating and updating models to ensure accuracy.
- Non-Technical Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with team members and stakeholders, Eagerness to learn new tools, software, technologies and methodologies related to BIM, Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities, Ability to organize and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously, Ability to read, write, problem solve, make quick decisions, interpret data and analyze results; effective written and verbal communication is essential.
- Additional: Domestic travel possible in special circumstances for this role less than 1% but including climbing stair towers, ladders and entering confined spaces during plant visits and inspections.
