BIM Coordinator
About the role
The BIM Coordinator serves as an integral member of the on-site BIM Department, supporting the construction project lifecycle. Reporting to the BIM Manager, this role involves coordinating with various project teams and stakeholders, maintaining BIM standards, and facilitating model coordination.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical BIM advisor in the onsite field office.
- Participate in BIM setup, standards development, and coordination processes for project phases.
- Establish early data exchange standards with the project team to optimize BIM utilization for scheduling, quantity take-off, estimating, and related functions.
- Support cross-functional technology collaboration across the full project team, including clients, design staff, builders, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Cook up and manage model families and initiate coordination efforts using Navisworks Manage.
- Facilitate 3D model exchange and coordination with consultants, contractors, and fabricators.
- Leverage Newforma Konekt to support collaboration, issue tracking, and project coordination across teams.
- Run clash detection studies, generate reports for the project team, assign responsible party workflows, and manage tasks through to resolution.
- Maintain construction geometry accuracy and clarity for field crews.
- Create archive record models at project completion.
- Provide clear communication across verbal, written, and electronic channels.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Four to seven (4-7) years' experience in architectural, engineering, or construction (AEC) industry required.
- Specific experience in industrial and/or advanced manufacturing projects is required.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- A degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or related industry preferred.
Qualifications
- Advanced proficiency in Building Information Modeling (BIM), AutoCAD, Revit, and Autodesk Navisworks Manage.
- Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Teams).
- Experience with project management software such as Procore and Bluebeam.
- Experience with Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) methods and digital fabrication.
- Experience working in or around data centers, semiconductor facilities, and/or advanced manufacturing environments.
- Ability to host, facilitate, and document BIM coordination meetings.
- Trained in design document reading and specifications.

Physical And Mental Requirements
- Environment & Mobility: Must work in both office and active construction site environments, spending more than 50% of time stationary. Must access all site areas and levels, including climbing stairs, ascending/descending ladders, and entering confined or underground spaces. Must work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Strength & Dexterity: Must lift or manipulate up to 50 lbs to a height of three feet and carry or push it 50–100 feet. Frequent bending, twisting, kneeling, crouching, and crawling required for examining project work. Constantly operates computers and standard office equipment.
- Sensory: Vision: Close vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment required for both screen-based and outdoor environments. Hearing: Must tolerate proximity to loud equipment; hearing protection required as needed. Regular communication with colleagues and customers in office, site, and digital meeting settings. Speech: Must communicate plans, protocols, directives, and SOPs related to project scope clearly in English.
- Transportation: Must hold a valid driver's license and safely operate a vehicle.
- Cognitive: Must apply independent judgment, critical thinking, and organizational skills to analyze data, transcribe information, interpret printed and digital documents, and determine the best method to accomplish desired results.
