About the role
Sanford Rose is partnering with a growing organization seeking an experienced Construction Billing Supervisor to lead its construction billing function and oversee a small, hands-on billing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction billing professional with strong AIA billing experience who enjoys being involved in the details, leading a team, and working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

- Monday–Friday, fully onsite
- 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Pay
$55,000–$65,000
Responsibilities
- Lead the construction billing function and supervise approximately three Customer Management and Job Entry team members, including training, coaching, reviewing work, and managing daily priorities.
- Oversee the full construction/AIA billing cycle from contract award through final closeout.
- Prepare and review AIA billing and pay applications, including schedules of values, progress billings, change orders, stored materials, and retainage.
- Review contracts and billing requirements to ensure accurate payment terms, retainage requirements, required documentation, and compliance.
- Oversee monthly billing cycles and ensure construction invoices are accurate, complete, and submitted on time.
- Oversee job and project setup, including customer and billing information, job openings/closings, and RMR changes.
- Oversee lien waiver requirements and other construction billing documentation.
- Monitor construction accounts receivable and assist with past-due balances and collection efforts.
- Serve as an escalation point for billing questions and disputes involving customers, general contractors, project managers, and internal teams.
- Partner with project management, operations, and accounting to resolve billing issues and keep projects moving.
- Identify billing and process issues and implement improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Remain hands-on with the billing operation while providing leadership and direction to the team.
Requirements
- 2+ years of construction billing leadership, supervisory, or management experience.
- Strong hands-on construction billing experience, including AIA billing and pay applications.
- Experience with construction/project billing, including schedules of values, progress billings, change orders, retainage, and milestone billing.
- Strong understanding of construction billing processes from contract award through project closeout.
- Experience reviewing contracts and billing requirements, including payment terms and required documentation.
- Experience with lien waivers and construction billing compliance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve billing discrepancies and customer issues.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with customers, contractors, project managers, operations, and accounting teams.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy while managing changing priorities and deadlines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment and shifting priorities as needed.
- BlueBeam experience strongly preferred.
- NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Degree is not required; strong construction billing experience is the priority.
