Billing Coordinator (Remote Position within 90-mile radius of Chattanooga, TN)

The Center for Sports Medicine and Orthopaedics is seeking a Billing Coordinator for a full-time position in Chattanooga, TN. The Center for Sports Medicine & Orthopaedics is Chattanooga's leading provider of multi-specialty orthopaedic care since 1979. We have 12 convenient locations in Chattanooga, North Georgia, and the surrounding area. We offer advanced sports medicine, orthopaedics, surgery, physical and occupational therapy, and sports training.

Responsibilities

• Direct follow up on insurance claims
• Call and communicate appropriately to insurance companies regarding denials
• Submit a claim and a corrected claim accurately
• Work claims from an assigned bucket worklist using EMR software
• Maintain benchmarks sent for the department for A/R, claim count and productivity
• Use good judgement and make sound decisions
• Communicate with management when claims are taking longer than expected to resolve

Requirements

• Minimum one year experience in the medical billing and receivables environment
• Proficient in insurance denials
• Understanding of CPT codes, ICD-10, and CCI edits
• Must be a team player

Schedule

Full-time position. No nights/weekends/holidays.
