Billing Assistant
About the role
You'll assist patients, answer billing questions and set up payment agreements using your kindness, problem-solving and customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Carry out billing customer service
- Perform billing clerical tasks, including processing claims and posting payments.
- Provide education and support on sliding fee discount applications.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy

- Commitment to adhere to standard operating procedures and policies of Neighborhood Health Center as well as federal, state and local regulations
- One year prior medical billing experience and insurance verification preferred
Qualifications
- Able to read, write and speak the English language. A second language of Spanish is preferred
