Biller/Coder - Clinic

Responsibilities

• Submit claims to appropriate intermediaries and ensure compliance with payer regulations.
• Obtain required authorizations for claim processing and payment.
• Follow up and manage denials to achieve final resolution.
• Identify and code ICD10, CPT, HCPCS, and DRG codes related to reimbursement.
• Communicate effectively via phone and in person with clients and staff.
• Maintain productivity standards and report progress.
• Update demographic and necessary information for compliance with government programs.
• Input follow-up notes and retrieve patient information using computer.
• Maintain proficiency in Medical Terminology.

Qualifications

• Previous billing experience within a clinic or medical group business office.
• Experience with government programs and collections preferred.
• Experience with rural healthcare billing preferred.
• Experience with EMR/Practice Management billing software required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Customer service experience required.
• High School Graduate or GED Equivalent required (effective 4/1/14 for all new hires).
