Responsibilities

  • Perform all work in alignment with NYAP’s mission, values, and philosophies
  • Build trusting, supportive relationships with youth to help them achieve identified goals
  • Provide leadership and guidance during program activities
  • Create a warm, caring, and safe atmosphere for youth
  • Handle activity and room preparations for the program
  • Complete required documentation and training on time as mandated by state, contract, or licensing agencies
  • Maintain a positive attitude toward youth, coworkers, families, and program partners
  • Report problems to the Out of School Coordinator
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and automotive insurance
  • Minimum automobile insurance coverage of $100,000/300,000 bodily injury liability
  • Good driving record
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and office equipment (computers, printers, fax machines, etc.)
  • Experience with desktop/laptop computers, internet search, people management programs, smartphones, and tablets
  • 21 years of age or older

Physical Demands

  • Use of manual dexterity, tactile, visual, and audio acuity
  • Repetitive motion, prolonged sitting and standing, and sustained mental/visual demands
  • Occasional lifting (up to 25 pounds), bending, pulling, and carrying
  • Frequent travel and extended periods of driving, varying by program demands
