Responsibilities

  • Offer direct representation, individual consultations, and community outreach and education to immigrant community members seeking immigration protections before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and immigration courts.
  • Handle additional immigration matters, including cases involving individuals in immigration detention.
  • Conduct intakes and determine potential clients' eligibility for immigration relief (Intake Staff Attorney).
  • Offer direct representation, individual consultations, and community outreach and education to immigrant community members seeking immigration protections before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and immigration courts.
  • Handle additional immigration matters, including cases involving individuals in immigration detention.
  • Offer direct representation, individual consultations, and community outreach and education to immigrant community members seeking immigration protections before immigration courts and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Filing motions to reopen with the immigration courts and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Focus on applications for naturalization and for family-based immigration, including removal defense in the immigration courts.

Requirements

  • Fluency in English and Spanish, and additional languages are encouraged.
  • Able to start the position as soon as possible.
  • A minimum two-year commitment to the position.

  • Demonstrated commitment to immigrant rights.
  • Passion for serving immigrants and refugees in need of legal services.
  • Experience in immigration law and practice.
  • Ability to represent clients in immigration courts and USCIS.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle complex legal issues and provide comprehensive legal advice.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
