About the role
The Bilingual Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluations and therapeutic interventions focusing on language, articulation, voice, and fluency, adhering to federal laws, state guidelines, and local district policies.
Responsibilities
- Evaluates students for speech and language disorders using appropriate diagnostic procedures.
- Develops and implements individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
- Provides therapy sessions that address language, articulation, voice, and fluency issues.
- Collaborates with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students.
- Maintains accurate records and reports progress to relevant parties.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
- Texas licensure from the State Board of Examiners or Speech-Language Pathology.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHAB.
- Bilingual: English and Spanish - required.
- Working knowledge of federal laws, state guidelines and local district policies.
- Special knowledge/skills in working with communication disorders, including all areas of language, phonological processes, articulation, voice, and fluency.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completed in a public school setting is preferred, but not required.
