About the role

The Bilingual Speech & Language Pathologist (SLP) provides evaluations and therapeutic interventions focusing on language, articulation, voice, and fluency, adhering to federal laws, state guidelines, and local district policies.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates students for speech and language disorders using appropriate diagnostic procedures.
  • Develops and implements individualized treatment plans based on student needs.
  • Provides therapy sessions that address language, articulation, voice, and fluency issues.
  • Collaborates with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure consistent support for students.
  • Maintains accurate records and reports progress to relevant parties.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Speech/Language Pathology.
  • Texas licensure from the State Board of Examiners or Speech-Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence from ASHAB.
  • Bilingual: English and Spanish - required.
  • Working knowledge of federal laws, state guidelines and local district policies.
  • Special knowledge/skills in working with communication disorders, including all areas of language, phonological processes, articulation, voice, and fluency.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) completed in a public school setting is preferred, but not required.
