About the Role: As an Tutor at Tutor Me Education, you'll provide personalized, one-on-one tutoring to students with special needs in their homes. You will be responsible for helping students with daily activities, offering moral support, and delivering tailored instruction based on their Individualized Education Plan (IEP). We are currently hiring for multiple positions across all cities in Los Angeles, CA Details: In-Person Tutoring in Los Angeles, CA Schedule: 25 hours a month, 2 sessions a week for 1 hourPay range is between $25 and $35 Ideal Candidate: An active teaching credential is preferredFluent in both English and Spanish is required, as the student is not fluent in EnglishExperience supporting college students or young adults with intellectual or developmental disabilities is strongly preferredPatient, organized, and encouraging, with the ability to explain concepts clearly and provide step-by-step instructionSkilled in breaking down assignments into manageable tasks and using visual schedules, planners, checklists, and structured routinesAble to support the development of self-advocacy, time management, organization, coping strategies, and independent learning skills Key Responsibilities: Provide individualized academic support in Business English, including understanding course materials, following instructions, completing assignments, and improving written and verbal communication skillsBreak down complex assignments into smaller, manageable steps and provide repeated explanations and guided practice as neededAssist with homework, assignment completion, and prioritization of courseworkHelp the student develop organizational and time-management skills through planners, checklists, visual schedules, and structured routinesConduct frequent check-ins to monitor understanding, progress, and assignment completionReinforce self-advocacy skills, including asking for clarification, requesting assistance, and communicating academic needsTeach practical coping strategies to manage stress, maintain focus, and build confidence in academic settingsEncourage independence by gradually reinforcing positive routines and allowing opportunities for the student to complete tasks with less assistanceIncorporate real-life examples and the student's interests to make learning more engaging and meaningfulCommunicate progress and relevant updates to the family or designated support team as appropriate Why Tutor Me Education?
