Bilingual Personal Injury Legal Assistant

TorkLaw Personal Injury Law Firm is seeking a motivated, self-starter for our Irvine office as a Case Manager Assistant / Legal Assistant. Experience in the legal industry is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
- Handle pre-litigation personal injury cases from inception to settlement
- Open and set up new client files
- Open and report claims to insurance companies
- Place statutory lien holders on notice
- Draft representation letters
- Request police reports
- Order medical records and bills
- Assist clients with scheduling medical treatment
- Assist with property damage claims
- Establish caring relationships with clients and collaborative partnerships with staff attorneys and support team
- Maintain extensive contact with insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other parties involved in legal cases

Requirements
- At least one year of experience as a legal assistant or legal secretary
- Familiarity with law, legal procedures and protocols, and the court system
- Knowledge of day-to-day operations of a legal office
- Computer literate with working knowledge of case management software
- Excellent communication and people skills
- Strong secretarial and organizational skills
- Able to effectively prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus, but not required

Pay
The anticipated pay range for this position is $16.00 - $25.00 per hour, dependent on experience, education, and other factors.
