About the role
The Bilingual Patient Access Representative I (PAR I) serves as a key point of contact for patients seeking reproductive healthcare services, including abortion services. They are responsible for handling a wide range of inquiries and ensuring seamless patient experiences.
Responsibilities
- Navigate and manage complex workflows in systems
- Field and resolve a large volume of inquiries via phone and other contact methods
- Register new patients into the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Schedule, cancel, and reschedule appointments for reproductive healthcare
- Verify and update patient insurance information
- Pre-register patients for appointments
- Screen for alternate funding sources
- Provide pre-visit instructions to patients
- Transmit calls to appropriate nurse advice staff when necessary
- Assist patients in identifying appropriate providers and appointments
- Screen patients for financial support using real-time eligibility (RTE)
- Inform patients about negative or abnormal STI results
- Transfer calls to appropriate departments as needed
- Communicate with patients regarding canceled or rescheduled appointments
- Train, support, and mentor colleagues
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Secondary language proficiency (Spanish)
- Strong phone and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
- Flexible work schedule
- English language proficiency
- Demonstrated dedication to Planned Parenthood's mission, vision, and values
- One year of experience in contact centers, pre-access, patient access, admissions, or hospital business office
- Familiarity with call center systems and practices

Pay
$18 - $26.50 an hour. Actual salaries may vary based on factors including education, training, experience, professional achievement, and business need.
Schedule
Full-time (37.5 hours/week) Monday - Saturday between the hours of 8 AM - 7 PM Eastern Time; additional hours as needed.

100% fully remote in the U.S.
