Position Responsibilities
- Pass TPCN Counselor Certification exam with 80% or better annually/as required.
- Properly bill TPCN and/or other agency utilized systems provided to residents.
- Knowledgeable of Guadalupe Home’s Resident Rules & Guidelines.
- Issue write-ups for residents that violate the Rules & Guidelines for Guadalupe Home.
- Must complete all required professional development assigned in a timely manner.
- Teach constructive behavior and social skills.
- Teach basic parenting skills.
- Teach realistic problem-solving behaviors and life skills.
- Teach good personal hygiene skills.
- Reinforce positive behavior by providing healthy, positive incentives for residents and children.
- Oversee daily chores and room checks.
- Ensure cleanliness of all common areas.
- Update daily logs, both written and electronic such as volunteer logs, medication logs, In-kind donations.
- Affiliate with implementation of social and recreational activities for residents.
- Engage with residents and children daily during activities and leisure time.
- Document all serious incidents completely, accurately, and in a timely manner in accordance with agency requirements.
- Follow agency reporting and notification protocol for serious incidents.
- Maintain positive culturally competent relationships with residents and staff.
- Provide input into development of resident goals as appropriate.
- Utilize training in trauma informed consequences when redirecting resident behavior.
- Participate in community meeting sessions with residents, as necessary.
- Maintain and uphold appropriate boundaries with residents and staff at all times.
- Be a positive role model for residents.
- Must be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics.
- Mediate conflicts between residents to promote healthy communication.
- Gain a working knowledge of staff policies and guidelines.
- Possess maturity, sense of confidence and emotional stability at all times while performing duties.
- Able to communicate effectively and adequately transition information during shift changes.
- Able to complete all documentation as required by the agency, licensing, contractors, and various funders.
- Adhere to safety training and protocols on a daily basis, and take precautionary measures to ensure the safety and well-being of self, others.
- Protect the confidentiality of any information or material obtained in the service with the organization to include but not limited to client names and information, services rendered to clients, donors names and gifts, internal and external investigations or results of any investigations, and financial information.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and the Faith and Moral is mandatory.
- Adhere to the Code of Conduct and Employment Policy is mandatory.

Minimum Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Prefer experience working with families and children, support services, and/or shelters; Required to have a clean driving record and proof of insurance to drive agency vehicle or to transport residents in agency vehicles to events as needed.
- Licenses and Credentials: Reliable transportation, Valid driver license, Valid vehicle insurance, Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
