About the role

Educated in 1926, Mutual Trading Co., Inc. has grown into a prominent supplier of Japanese foodservice products, serving both local and international clientele. Yamasho Inc., a subsidiary, operates in Elk Grove, IL, offering a range of restaurant items.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and safely navigates the Company vehicle as per the Company Vehicle Policy.
• Trains and educates customers on the benefits of the Company's products.
• Collaborates with purchasing departments, warehouse, and other involved parties to ensure accurate order processing and product distribution.
• Coordinates urgent deliveries with customers to meet their needs.
• Attends weekly sales meetings and semiannual inventory counts.
• Participates in Company events and functions outside of regular working hours.

Requirements

• Able to drive for a majority of the daily working hours.
• Able to travel within or outside of Illinois as needed.
• Able to reach, bend, kneel, and lift up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
• Able to use the phone for extended periods of time.
• Maintains a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Maintains a positive attitude.
• Able to work independently and as a team.
• Able to work weekends, holidays, and after-hours as needed for Company and department-related events.
• Able to adapt to frequent changes in assignments and workload.
• High school diploma required; AA and above strongly preferred.
• Experience in food industry, preferably in Japanese food industry is plus.
• Experience in Japanese restaurant business is a plus.

Skills

• Demonstrates strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Possesses basic mathematical knowledge such as markups, discounts, counting inventory, weight and measurement conversions, combining, etc.
• Has strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
• Has strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrates basic Microsoft Office proficiency.
• Knowledge of ERP systems, especially Microsoft NAV, highly preferred.
• Knowledge of Japanese foods and liquors strongly preferred.
