Work Schedule
This is a 10-month, school-based position. The typical work timeframe is August - June, aligned with the academic calendar.
What You Will Do
Under administrative and clinical supervision (Mental Health Therapist I) or consultation and direction (Mental Health Therapist II), provides behavioral health clinical intervention and recovery services to assigned participants and their families; develops treatment plans and performs individual, group, and family therapy, routine and emergency assessment, crisis intervention, and related treatment services; manages an assigned caseload of children, youth and/or young adult participants; provides consultation to other staff, programs, and agencies related to treatment needs and plans; and performs related duties as assigned.
Compensation
- Pay Schedule: This position is paid on a bi-weekly basis across 22 pay periods, aligned with the 10-month school-year calendar.
- Mental Health Therapist I: $2,704 - $3,440
- Mental Health Therapist II: $2,965.60 - $3,785.60
- Bilingual Stipend: Employees who successfully pass the bilingual assessment are eligible for a 9% bilingual stipend.
- Stay-On Incentive: Employees are eligible for a 3% stay-on incentive upon completion of a full work-year calendar.
Qualifications
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is required for this position.
- Mental Health Therapist I-II: Master's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in social work, psychology, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or a related field;
- Mental Health Therapist I: One (1) year of internship experience providing mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
- Mental Health Therapist II: Two (2) years of post-master’s experience providing professional mental health services in a behavioral health, clinic, residential, school-based, or community-based setting for children, youth, or young adults.
Licenses and Certifications
- Mental Health Therapist I: Possession of a valid registration as an Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
- Mental Health Therapist II: Possession of valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) issued by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS), to be maintained throughout employment.
