About the role

Counseling In Schools (CIS) is seeking bilingual Spanish-speaking Master's Level Social Workers, Art Therapists, or Mental Health Counselors (LMSW/LCSW/LMHC) for New York City public schools. The positions are located in Brooklyn, NY and require candidates to have a Master's Degree in Creative Arts Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or a related Master’s Degree.

Responsibilities

• Bilingual in Spanish - ability to conduct sessions and outreach in Spanish.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply. Clinical supervision and hours toward licensure are available.
• Experience and familiarity with clinical documentation.
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organization, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Self-starter, takes initiative, motivated.
• Works collaboratively in a team-based setting.
• Experience in school-based programs preferred.
• Experience in crisis intervention and de-escalation preferred.

Job Qualifications

A Master's Degree in one of the following: Creative Arts Therapy, Social Worker, Mental Health Counseling, or a related Master’s Degree.

Compensation

$57,000 - $65,000 annual salary; position reports to the school from September through June, following NYC DOE calendar.
