BILINGUAL MEDICAL COMMUNICATIONS SPECIALIST

About the role

The Medical Interpreter Translator plays a vital role in helping ensure effective communication between healthcare providers and Spanish-speaking patients. This position provides both verbal and written interpretation and translation services to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. We are seeking a bilingual professional who is passionate about helping patients navigate their healthcare experience and ensuring language is never a barrier to receiving exceptional care. This position is on-site in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide accurate verbal interpretation between English and Spanish during patient visits and other healthcare interactions.
• Translate written materials and communications as needed.
• Assist providers with interpretation needs to facilitate effective patient care.
• Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up communications.
• Assist with billing-related tasks and patient account inquiries.
• Update and maintain patient records within the electronic medical record system.
• Perform general office and administrative duties as assigned.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Full fluency in English and Spanish, including reading, writing, and speaking.
• Prior medical interpretation or translation experience preferred.
