Bilingual Medical Assistant

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant, reporting to Manager, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments.

Work location: CenterWell Hunters Creek Orlando, FL

Responsibilities

  • Perform clinical responsibilities including discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines
  • Perform phlebotomy, collect specimens, and conduct diagnostic screening tests
  • Sterilize and clean equipment, maintain examination rooms, and document information into the electronic medical records system
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
  • Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows
  • Make decisions focused on interpretation of area/department policy and methods for completing assignments
  • Work within defined parameters to identify work expectations and quality standards, with latitude over prioritization/timing
  • Follow standard procedures that allow opportunity for interpretation/deviation

Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • CPR Certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified or Registered Medical Assistant
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience with blood draws
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience

Schedule

Monday to Friday 8AM - 5PM, scheduled 40 hours per week. Local travel may be required; mileage is reimbursed.

Pay

$43,000 - $56,200 per year. This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan based upon company and/or individual performance.
