Bilingual Dental Liaison

About the Role

Under the direct supervision of the Dental Business Services Supervisor, this non-exempt position performs a variety of duties related to dental patient care as directed by the DAC/Dental Director. The Dental Liaison is responsible for dental education for parents and children, scheduling dental appointments, and cross-training with DAC Assistant and PSR roles.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver dental presentations to parents and children at the Child Health facility in Gaston County Health Department.
  • Meet with parents to explain the benefits of dental appointments for all children in the household and establishing a dental home.
  • Schedule patients efficiently to optimize doctor and staff time.
  • Ensure no duplicate records are created in the Electronic Dental Record (EDR).
  • Verify current Medicaid status and date of last claim for 6-month check-ups.
  • Follow up with parents regarding missed appointments.
  • Create and submit monthly spreadsheets tracking appointments made and kept.
  • Attend health fairs, including occasional Saturdays, as needed.
  • Conduct yourself in accordance with the Kintegra Health employee manual.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, and understand English.
  • Effective communication skills and professional interaction with patients, staff, physicians, and other departments.
  • Knowledge of dental office protocols and procedures.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with basic computer operations and Electronic Dental Record (EDR) software.
  • Ability to sit for several hours to provide clinical services and frequent movement within the office to manage patient flow.
  • Maintain a neat and well-groomed appearance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of office experience preferred.
  • Bilingual preferred.
  • Certifications: BLS, OSHA, HIPAA.
