Bilingual Chinese-English Caregiver ($23/hr)

Responsibilities

• Provide client services as directed by the Director of Operations or the Owners.
• Perform various personal care (non-medical) services as necessary to meet the client's needs, including but not limited to: bathing and personal hygiene; grooming; assisting with dressing and undressing; assisting with toileting activities; performing light housekeeping; changing bed linens and making up the client’s bed; maintaining an orderly client environment; performing meal preparation and cleanup; assisting with feeding the client, if necessary; feeding clients who are unable to feed themselves; assisting client in the self-administration of medication (medication reminders); supporting good skin care to prevent skin breakdown (i.e., turning and repositioning client; actively encouraging movement).
• Assist client with active and passive range of motions as defined by the plan of care.
• Provide client with help walking and transferring.
• Measure and record height and weight.
• Measure and document intake and output, as required.
• Ensure a safe environment for the client and promote quality client care through adherence to established policies, procedures, and standards.
• Aid in providing transportation to doctor appointments, outdoor activities, and shopping.
• Follow principles of infection control and Universal Precautions.
• Respond rapidly and appropriately in an emergency situation.
• Use equipment properly and in a safe manner.
• Maintain client’s rights, including privacy and dignity while care is being provided; the right to accept or refuse care; the right to confidentiality of the client’s information.

Requirements

• Minimum of one year of documented experience.
• High School Diploma or GED (preferred but not required).
• Active Home Care Aide License.
• Current Tuberculosis test (TB/TST/PPD tests, if applicable).
• Valid licensed driver with reliable transportation.
• Valid state required proof of auto insurance (only required if driving a client).
