About the role
Soar Autism Center is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children on the autism spectrum through a specialized, play-based form of Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy called the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). As a Bilingual Behavior Technician or Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), you will provide one-on-one therapy to children aged 2-6, supporting our diverse client base in both English and Spanish.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one ABA therapy to children aged 2-6 in our clinic, adhering to high standards of care.
- Deliver therapy in both English and Spanish to support our diverse client base.
- Implement intervention plans crafted by our expert Masters-level clinicians, ensuring alignment with Applied Behavioral Analysis therapy principles.
- Provide bilingual support during family meetings, communicating in both English and Spanish.
- Foster relationships with families, keeping them informed about their child's progress within the ABA framework.
- Engage in ongoing training and development, staying updated with advancements in ABA therapy and RBT certification.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (as verified by resume, application, or BACB attestation for RBT certification).
- Proficiency in both English and Spanish (Proficiency Test required for additional pay increase).
- Strong preference for either enrollment in or completion of a degree program. Bonus for degrees in Child Development, Psychology, or related fields.
- Ability to achieve and maintain RBT certification (Soar will provide paid training).
- Previous experience with children and enjoyment working with children.
- Reliable transportation to both training location and local center; punctuality is essential.
- Ability to meet the following physical requirements: sit and stand frequently, shift positions quickly, lift up to 50 lbs., sit/kneel on the floor for extended periods, sit in a chair, stand, walk, and occasionally run short distances to catch up with a client.
- Ability to work on a team.
Pay
$21.50 - $28.50/hour with regular bonus and promotion opportunities, including an additional $1/hour for bilingual proficiency.
