Big Data Support Engineer Lead - Vice President

Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of Incident Management, Problem Management, Service Improvements, Monitoring and Observability instrumentation, SRE (Site Reliability Engineering) Frameworks and adoption, Disaster recovery and resiliency, and automation of production services.
- Lead production monitoring and implementation of Observability using AppD, Splunk, Grafana, and other industry-standard monitoring tools.
- Collaborate with development, architecture, and infrastructure teams to lead service improvement plans.
- Support the delivery of L2 Service Delivery and SRE objectives for the business/region.
- Lead the team to achieve service performance targets for the organization, with a strong bias toward automation and SRE frameworks.
- Execute day-to-day service delivery functions, including:
- Incident Management: Perform incident triage, root cause analysis, and validate business impact.
- Service Management: Collaborate with the Technology Organization to manage service risk/maturity assessments and drive Service Improvement Plans.
- Knowledge Management: Develop and test knowledge objects to support increased L0, L1, and L2 resolution.
- Change Management: Review and approve changes.
- Capacity Management: Review capacity across service components.
- Continuity Management: Schedule and facilitate COB testing, maintain recovery plans.
- Configuration Management: Build and update service configuration.
- Third Party Asset Management: Manage licensing compliance and optimization.
- Service Readiness: Review major releases and new application installs early in the project/program to document and remediate risks before production Go Live.
- Service Risks: Identify, document, and manage service risks within applications and drive resolutions.
- Monitoring: Collaborate with teams to enable monitoring and observability of production services.
Requirements
- At least 10+ years of hands-on IT experience, with 2+ years in one or more cloud technologies (OpenShift, AWS, or Google Cloud).
- Good understanding of Data Engineering functions, tools, and technologies, including Ab Initio, Big Data, Master Data Management (MDM), and Hybrid Cloud.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools for automated code deployments.
- Strong knowledge of SOAP/REST APIs and Microservices.
- Experience creating Observability Dashboards using Splunk, AppDynamics, ELK, and Grafana.
- Working knowledge of Ansible scripts for automation.
- Track record of successfully triaging issues and driving them to resolution.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and handle unexpected changes in expectations or requirements.
- Availability for "on call" or "shift basis" off-hours production support.
- Ability to handle multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
- Experience working with offshore and onsite production support teams across multiple organizations.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Disaster Recovery processes across data centers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to logically break down tasks.
- Ability to communicate, negotiate, and influence at all organizational levels.
- Effective meeting management, team management, and organizational skills.
- Strong presentation skills, including creating visual presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
- Prior experience in financial services preferred.
- Prior experience in applications development preferred.
- Prior experience in Data Warehouse and Business Intelligence Applications.
Pay
Full-time salary range: $125,760 – $188,640. In addition to salary, eligible employees may receive discretionary and formulaic incentive and retention awards.
